44 days in hell, Junko Furuta

This story is a horribly gruesome one. All murders are terrible, but the murder of Junko Furuta takes it to a whole other level of terror. The hardship Junko had to endure before her life was snuffed out was unbelievably cruel. It’s the kind of crime that makes you wonder how such horrible human beings could exist.  Junko Furuta was a Japanese high-school student who was abducted, mercilessly tortured, brutally raped, and murdered.

The accused are four Teen boys:

Hiroshi Miyano (now Hiroshi Yokoyama), Jō Ogura (now Jō Kamisaku), Shinji Minato, and Yasushi Watanabe. How could four high school boys imprison someone in such a hell?

Junko was a good girl who lived in Misato, Japan. She didn’t drink, she didn’t smoke, and she was well-loved by her classmates. Junko was a beautiful sixteen-year-old and this likely contributed to her popularity. Unfortunately, her beauty caught the eye of the school bully as well. When Hiroshi Miyano asked Junko out and she respectfully but firmly declined, this made him furious. Miyano was not used to being said no to. He was not only the school bully, but a known affiliate of the yakuza. The yakuza are essentially the gangsters of Japan, a huge crime organization known country-wide for their ruthlessness. Naturally, Miyano was set on revenge.

However, quite a bit is known about Minato: He was one of four youths convicted in the killing of Junko Furuta, 17, whose corpse was found packed in concrete inside an oil drum dumped in Tokyo’s Koto Ward in 1989.The case became widely known not only due to the graphic nature of the repeated beatings and sexual assaults endured by the victim but also the perception that the perpetrators received lenient sentences.Considering Minato’s past, the scant media coverage is not the only thing odd about his latest arrest. According to the site for weekly tabloid Friday, the trial, which began on February 1, is becoming unpredictable and borderline dubious.Suspicions started even before the trial began. First, Minato was only indicted for allegedly inflicting injury. Further, the trial does not include lay judges as planned. Rather, a single judge is presiding.

Her murder was also mentioned in the Ju-on Origins Netflix series on a TV playing in the background.

Here is a viewpoint of my professor Shilpi dey

Rapes, After reading this article I came to know how critical the world is. Junko was just a little girl according to the rapist her fault was she say no to the yakuza. According to me, this type of incident can hurt everyone and Girls are not the things that anyone can use and play please respect the girls and please support them. No means no, and just giving them jail is not the solution they have to give them a very tough punishment or hang till death.

  1. Rape is one of the most terrible crimes on earth. Every single minute a girl is being raped. The law enforcement needs strict laws , moral education and quick judments .
